Ferries to the Isle of Wight leave from Southampton or Portsmouth, approximately every hour. We are not arranging ferries this year, so you’ll have to make a phone call to either Red Funnel (Southampton) on 01703 334010 or WightLink (Portsmouth) on 0870 5827744. Cars must be booked in advance, whereas passenger tickets are available on the day of travel.
It costs around £50 to £70 for car and driver to make a return trip. Cost depends on travelling time and how far in advance you book. Beach Boogie is in peak season, so we recommend early booking (it is easy to change timings at a later date). Passenger tickets are about £9 for a return trip.
You might want to consider a car share in order to spread the cost of the ferry crossing. When booking Beach Boogie, please let us know if you are looking for space in a car, or if you have spaces to offer in your car. Please note that if you do car share, you may find it inconvenient to travel around on the island — there is a bus service of sorts but it is far from frequent.
If you wish to meet your fellow Beach Boogiers on the way out, then we recommend you get the 12 noon Red Funnel crossing from Southampton on Sat 12th or Wed 16th. Although you can’t get into your chalets until 4pm, there’s bound to be some activity for you to join in. On the day of departure, why not chill out at the beach and catch the 5:30pm ferry home?
